Welcome to SID

The Programs in Sustainable International Development (SID) at The Heller School of Brandeis University is a community of concerned students and faculty drawn from around the world. Our mission is to help build a new generation of development planners and policy makers for whom a global society free of poverty, preventable disease, and environmental degradation is achievable.

The Learning Environment
SID is a stimulating and supportive learning environment where the faculty, students and staff are culturally and professionally diverse with broadly varied academic and organizational backgrounds. It is a fertile setting where students who are experienced practitioners are exposed to innovative ideas, and those with little experience are prepared to enter the field. One Integrated Program; Four Degree Options.

SID consists of four degree offerings:

• Master of Arts Degree in Sustainable International Development
  A two-year program in development studies and project planning, implementation and evaluation. The program includes a Year-in-Residence and a Second Year professional internship or advanced study. A one-year accelerated M.A. is available for students with significant project management experience.
  
  
  
• Master of Science Degree in International Health Policy and Management
  A one-year program in health policymaking and management of health systems in low and middle-income countries.
  
  
  
• Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Sustainable Development
  A 16-month program that prepares managers for leadership positions in organizations pursuing social missions, including nonprofit, public, and for-profit sectors.
  
  
  
• Master of Public Policy with a concentration in Poverty Alleviation and Development
  A two-year program that provides students with the broad range of tools that today's policy analyst needs in order to evaluate, create, and recommend policy options to solve complex social problems.
